Ramanathapuram, Tamil Nadu: Day 8 of the Hockey India 7th Sub Junior National Hockey Championship 2017 (Women) 'A' Division saw a single game played out between Hockey Chandigarh and Hockey Mizoram in Pool A.

Hockey Chandigarh had already qualified for the next round despite what their result would be in the match. Nevertheless, they came out charging, looking to keep their good form going. In the 17th minute they took the lead via Barkha, before settling into a controlled game to hold on for the victory. The result sealed up the group stage of the tournament.

The quarterfinals of the Hockey India 7th Sub Junior National Hockey Championship 2017 (Women) 'A' Division will be held tomorrow, January 19, 2017.

In the opening game, Pool A toppers, Uttar Pradesh Hockey take on Pool B's second placed Hockey Punjab at 0700 hours IST. Uttar Pradesh Hockey notched four straight victories in the group stage. Hockey Punjab have been prolific in front of goal, netting 23 times, despite suffering an opening game loss.

The second game will see Pool D leaders Hockey Haryana lock horns with Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy at 0900 hrs IST. Hockey Haryana scored a scarcely believable 41 goals in their pool conceding only four times in the process. Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy suffered a loss in their opener but bounced back with three consecutive victories to finish second in their group.
